Zuckerrohr ist eine jährlich nachwachsende Pflanze. Zur Herstellung der Teller und Schalen werden die Reste der Zuckerrohr-Pflanze (Bagasse) verwendet, die nach der Gewinnung des Zuckersaftes übrig bleiben. Artikel aus Zuckerrohr sind besonders stabil und weisen eine glatte, ansprechende Oberfläche auf.
